C3 WRC: CITROËN RACING’S BIG RALLY COMEBACK.

At this year’s Paris Motor Show, the world is getting an exclusive first look at the WRC C3 concept car, a brawnier, sportier version of the New Citroën C3. The concept car heralds the arrival of the race car that will compete for the first time at the Monte-Carlo Rally in January 2017, with the challenge of establishing Citroën Racing’s comeback into the FIA World Rally Championship.

AN ULTRA-SPORTY C3

The C3 WRC concept car retains the curves, fresh appeal, and certain stylistic aspects of the New C3: a dual-level illuminated logo, two-tone canopy and accents echoing the colours of the canopy, all accompanied by additions from the racing world. A dark bumper, chrome chevrons stretching down to the LED daytime running lamps, carbon wing mirrors in racing yellow, an extra 55mm width for the chassis, and a front bumper with a spoiler to enhance the car’s aerodynamics. A sporty, chiselled design that comes in full colour.

A CONCEPT CAR DESIGNED TO BE A CONTENDER

The C3 WRC is first and foremost a car made for the track, with all of the characteristics of a future champ:

– Enhanced engine power to around 380bhp, made possible in particular by enlarging the diameter of the turbo flange to 36mm.
– Greater freedom with aerodynamics with a maximum width of 1875mm, a protruding front bumper and a rear bumper fitted with a diffuser.
– An enlarged rear spoiler moved further back for even greater aerodynamic support.
– The car is 25kg lighter.
– Electronic differential control is now allowed.
